Santa Monica, California to Liberal, Kansas

I woke up at 6:07 in the morning and hauled myself out of bed. I walked out to the kitchen where everybody was already up. I had a breakfast of a bagel and bacon, the last bacon I would have for three days. I couldn’t find my shoes and my dad got angry and said it was an example of something. Something that I now forget. After we arrived in airport and got in the plane I started to read but quickly fell asleep and slept for most of the flight.

We arrived at Sedona, Arizona for a quick pit stop. We got dad some peanut M&Ms because he always likes to have some while we are flying cross-country. We then went for a walk to stretch our legs. I was slightly sad because the vending machine had both 3 Musketeers and Twix. Over the cross-country flights my brother and I have set up a contest to see what candy bar is better. If a vending machine has only one of the bars then the person’s whose candy bar is represented gets a point.

For the next flight I just slept and read again, I was reading a book called Evil Genius. We arrived in Albuquerque, New Mexico where we have been stuck many times before due to different causes, I didn’t want that to happen this time. I won a point for our candy bar game. We went to get lunch but we weren’t sure what we wanted. First we were heading to a BBQ called Rudy’s, then dad wanted to go to the Artichoke Cafe, but that was closed. When we turned around and started to head towards Rudy’s again, we saw a place called Asian Street Food and everybody but Rudy wanted to go, so we did. Everybody ended up happy, including Rudy. I had chicken satay and rice.

I felt the need to sleep and read some more, but mainly read. This flight I had just taken what I thought I would need for the leg out of my bag and then put my bag in the back giving me a lot more leg room. When we arrived in Liberal, Kansas we wanted to fly on, but there was lighting all around outside so we had to stay the night. Last time we had to stay in Liberal it wasn’t very pleasant but this time we found a nicer hotel. Nobody was very hungry and I ended up being the only one to have dinner, which was an apple. I also started the movie ‘Hellboy.’
