This will post automatically as we are climbing into the sky over Santa Monica and starting our eastward journey with a last pass over the Los Angeles basin.
Dexter has a performance (Shakespeare at the Theatricum Botanicum) at 10:30am, and directly afterwards we will race to the airport, throw our luggage into the plane, jump in and tear off into the sky. Well, perhaps a little more sedate than that. With a little stop at home for whatever we forgot.
Our destination is New Hampshire, as usual. Along the way we would like to stop in Oberlin for Rudy to take a look. This will be our first afternoon crossing of the Rockies east to west, and I usually plan carefully to avoid that. If there is the slightest hint of trouble (or even discomfort) we will be landing, staying in a hotel for the night, and making our crossing in the early morning, the way we normally do.
The recently complete guide to How To Fly Across should give you some hints about how we will be doing it.
All four of us will be contributing to the Tumblr for the journey.
